The Academy by Robert-Jan Derksen is based on the same philosophy that Paul Hurrion uses in his own Quintic Putting Labatory in Birmingham, England. By using highspeed cameras, a ballroll computer, and Quintic Biomechanics software we can analyse faults in the stroke, body and roll of the ball that we can’t see with the naked eye. Paul uses this system to help the players understand and improve their putting.
Paul is an expert and works with lots of world-class players like, Rory Mcllroy, Padraig Harrington and Danny Willet as well as Robert-Jan Derksen and with success. Since working with Paul his putting is better and more consistant, he hits more greens and his birdie putts are in closer range than before.
Together they founded The Academy to improve the putt level of the top players in Holland. Paul has worked intensively with Hayo over the last few years to get him familiar with the putting fundamentals as taught by Paul in his Quintic laboratory.
Although Hayo is teaching full time in Nunspeet, Paul will supervise him on a very regular basis.

Why The Academy?
From the moment I turned pro I have been quite successful but I also had difficult times on the golfcourse. With many hours of practice, working on technique and an enormous amount of willpower I succeeded by winning the Dubai Desert Classic in 2003. Working very hard over the years resulted in that beautiful Sunday afternoon in March. I won again in Madeira in 2005. To keep improving my results I have collected a team of different specialists. Paul Hurrion has been my putting coach for a number of years now.
Putting has been an underexposed part of the golfgame for years. Technique of putting is crucial. Also because our feel differs from day to day. Being a good putter is the difference between a good score and a bad one. I have helped lots of juniors in Holland over the past few years and partly because of seeing them up close on the greens; I knew there is lots of room for improvement.
Therefore Paul and myself have combined our forces in starting The Academy. With the opening of The Academy a dream becomes true and we hope to contribute a valuable part to the Dutch golfers and the golfsport in general.
